About
Respect in School is an on-line educational program, developed in partnership with the Canadian Red Cross, empowering all educators and other school personnel to better understand the effects of bullying, abuse, harassment and neglect between students in a school-based environment. Respect in School is a fully outsourced solution available to any school, school board or organization interested in protecting the interests of its’ students, personnel and the organization as a whole.
Respect in School was founded on the following beliefs:
- Creating a safe and welcoming learning environment should be the # 1 priority of school leaders
- 99% of school leaders are good people wanting to do the right thing
- Only a portion of school leaders have received formal training in the areas of bullying, abuse, harassment and neglect
- All students should leave school each day, with a positive self-image
- Empowering training, not a stick, is the key to creating a values-based environment
- Training must be simple, convenient, easy to access, and affordable
- Schools/School Boards/Education Ministries need to outsource these issues
- All schools should be able to use one solution to educate their school leaders
Respect in School uses innovative instructional design techniques to provide an internet-based training experience that is simple, to the point and captivating for the learner. It offers full database capabilities for user access and certification and is designed to be widely accessible for all users regardless of location or speed of the internet connection. In contrast to traditional classroom training, Respect in School takes less than half the time, is available at the users’ convenience and gives a consistent, up to date message on behalf of the host organization.
